Vice Chairman Report 2003

Smiles, fun, laughter at the keyworth show, NottinghamAnother Successful and Enjoyable Day

Our Annual Village Show has once again taken place, and what a superb day it was.

Record entries in both the Horticultural Section and the Dog Show. A very well supported Craft Fair and this year a new display area was opened by Ruddington Framework Knitters Museum using the Centenary Lounge.

We had massive support from local businesses and many of the stall holders commented what a successful and enjoyable day they had. This was all enhanced by the wonderful weather, and the support of very many people from Keyworth and the surrounding villages being there to enjoy it.

All the artistes did a sterling job, from the professional performers to the local dance school and the jujitsu club. Something for everyone.

Some of you may have noticed a new gazebo asking anyone with spare time to contact Rushcliffe BC - they are not on their own needing help. You may possibly be aware that this year our Chairman, Derek Oakley, has decided to hang up his green Keyworth Show shirt for good, we are therefore some members short on the committee.

Do you have one evening a month spare, and obviously the weekend of the Show?

These days people don't do things they don't enjoy, even if it does raise a lot of money for charity, so it's no coincidence that some members of our committee have been around for a long time. We do it because we enjoy it, its good fun and on the Saturday evening we can stand back (actually more likely flop down) and with some degree of satisfaction smile and think "well that's another good one under our belt"

If you are interested in being part of the future of Keyworth Show please contact us and I promise you, you won't be disappointed.
