Recipes : Class 42 - Tuna & Mayonnaise Quiche

Pastry

Ingredients

  • 225g plain flour
  • pinch salt
  • 50g lard or shortening
  • 50g margarine
  • Cold water to mix
 

Filling

Ingredients

  • 185g Can tuna (drained and flaked)
  • 1 small red pepper chopped
  • 50g sweet corn
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 eggs beaten with 100ml milk
  • salt & pepper (add to the egg)
  • 50g edam cheese (grated)
 

 
 

Method

  1. Mix all together into a smooth dough
  2. Line a 20cm flan tin or ring with pastry
 

Method

  1. Mix tuna, pepper, sweet corn with mayonnaise, add egg mixture mix well.
  2. Pour into the pastry case.
  3. Sprinkle with cheese.
  4. Bake in oven 190º Gas mark 5
  5. For approx 40-50 minutes until the middle is cooked.
  6. Remove from the tin.
