Recipes : Teenager’s Class : Class 72 - 6 Chocolate and Lemon Pinwheels

Ingredients

  • 175g softened butter
  • 300g caster sugar
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 350g plain flour (sieved)
  • 25g dark chocolate (melted)
  • grated rind off 1 lemon

Method

  1. Cream margarine sugar until light & fluffy slowly add the egg beating well.
  2. Add flour mix to form a soft dough.
  3. Spilt into 2, beat in the melted chocolate to one.
  4. Stir in grated lemon rind to the other.
  5. Roll out each piece to form a rectangle of the same size place lemon dough on top of the chocolate dough
  6. Roll up to form a tight sausage.
  7. Leave to chill.
  8. Cut roll into 40 slices.
  9. Bake in oven 190ºC Gas mark 5 for approx 10-12 minutes.
