Classic CarsCLASSIC CARS AT KEYWORTH SHOW 2009
This is the third year that classic cars have appeared at the Keyworth Show. It started with just seven cars in 2007, then went up to thirteen cars in 2008 and this year, with two unexpected arrivals, the total reached sixteen. Although not exactly a classic car the total does include the stationary engines of Peter. His various engines were originally used for pumping water or generating electricity mainly on farms and Peter’s display showed this perfectly. The cars attending the show were;
1930’s Morris Ten Austin Seven Special 1940’s Willys Jeep 1950’s Aston Martin BMW Isetta Bubblecar Morris Minor 1000 Panda Police Car 1960’s
Triumph TR6 Bond Equipe MG Midget 1970’s Triumph Stag Triumph 2000 Estate MG Midget 1980's BMW 5 Series Triumph TR8
Lastly was the beautifully brutal and very noisy AC Cobra kit car. This car won the ‘just for fun’ ballot of “Which car would you like to go home in?” competition. The Show Committee thanks all the owners for bringing their cars to the show. The parade in the arena and the short interview with the drivers was a welcome addition to the entertainment programme. Hopefully, next year, even more local owners will polish up their ‘pride and joy’ and bring it to the show so let us know if you are interested!
